Youth Student Edge Card
Anyone aged under 26 can get an International Youth Travel (IYTC) Student Edge card, giving you discounts on everything from plane tickets to cinema tickets.

What do I need to get an IYTC/Student Edge card?
The International Youth Travel Card is for people under 26 years old, therefore applicants must apply before their 26th birthday (ie 25 years and younger).
To get an International Youth Travel Card you need to present one of the following documents that identifies you and proves your age and also a passport sized photo:
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
- An official identity card issued by the official authorities
The cost is only $25.00 AUD
VALIDITY
The validity for an IYTC Youth Student Edge card is 12 months from the date of issue, even if the cardholder turns 26 during the validity period of the card.

How do I get an ITIC?
The Teacher Card is for full-time teaching professionals.
If you're now working as a full-time teacher or professor, you can enjoy teacher discounts with the International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC). You can still the take advantage of thousands of similar benefits, services and savings that the ISIC student card offers, at home and away. So don't forget to carry your card around with you!
To get an International Teacher Identity Card you need to present one of the following and a passport sized photo:
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
- An official identity card issued by the official authorities
PROOF OF STATUS
A letter on official school or university stationery confirming that you are employed at a recognised educational establishment for a minimum of 18 hours per week and for a minimum of one academic year.

VALIDITY
The card validity of the ITIC is set by the International Student Travel Confederation according to the Hemisphere in which the issuing office is located. The validity is NOT set by date of issue. The validity period for the ITIC is based on the southern hemisphere's academic year. The maximum validity fixed for an ITIC is 16 months, from the start of the academic year.
An ITIC card will be valid from 1 December 2009 until 31 March 2011, 16 months later.
Whenever an ITIC is issued within this period the expiry date remains the same. Applicants are encouraged to purchase their ITIC at the beginning of the academic year to enjoy the ISIC discounts and benefits for the full period.
