Melbourne Aquarium is extremely dedicated to sustaining the environment. As an attraction that is devoted solely to the marine environment, it demonstrates environmentally sound practice in every area of its operation.

Melbourne Aquarium treats its animals as an educational resource, presenting its animals alongside educative programs, which inform the public on the biology, status and conservation problems of the species.

This dedication is exercised on a daily basis through educating its visitors in a manner, which increases conservation awareness, and encourages actions, which positively contribute to the improvement of the world's aquatic environment.

The other major commitment is of course the collection and maintenance of the Wild Resources - the animals that live in the Aquarium.
